Katherine Koster has departed from the NSWP Secretariat after over three years in the role of Policy Officer.
Katherine joined NSWP in April 2017. During her time with NSWP, Katherine worked on a wide range of advocacy tools; case studies on technical support and international guidelines; meeting reports; and helped with drafting responses to external documents.
Katherine also supported NSWP's work with the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), working with NSWP's Global Coordinator, Ruth Morgan Thomas, and provided technical support to 16 country teams submitting shadow reports to CEDAW, and saw NSWP’s work with the women’s movement grow across the organisation.
On leaving NSWP, Katherine said:
"I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from NSWP member organisations and leaders of the global sex workers’ rights movement, as well as from the secretariat. Also to have had the opportunity to be part of an organisation that is so uncompromisingly committed to its values/principles, and that engages in really effective international policy advocacy, technical support, and programmes that meaningfully involve sex workers."
NSWP thank Katherine for her years of hard work and wish her the best of luck with future endeavours.
Ajita Banerjie has joined the NSWP secretariat in the role of Policy Officer. Ajita has previously held roles with the International Commission of Jurists and the Internet Democracy Project.
