The text is from a petition entitled “Punish Vyacheslav Datsika of Beatings and Abuse of Sex Workers in St. Petersburg!” on Change.org. NSWP member Silver Rose encourages the global sex work community to sign this petition. NSWP has reported on the violence experienced by sex workers in Russia during this incident here.
According to newsru com, on Wednesday night, on the 11th Line of Vasilyevsky Island, Vyacheslav Datsik carried out a ‘test purchase’ in a brothel. He broke into the former communal flat with a crowbar, forced the women to undress and walk in the streets.
The stroll was accompanied by photographers. Naked men and women were also filmed on video recorders of nearby car drivers. The captured images were published by "Fontanka".
Datsik brought the nine sex workers and their two clients to police station number 30, where he handed them over to law enforcement officers.
A criminal case against Vyacheslav Datsik and other attackers was initiated under part 2 of article 139 (unlawful entry into a dwelling) and part 2 article 162 (robbery by a group of individuals) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
We are asking the investigative committee to also charge Vyacheslav Datsik under article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "deadly threats or grievous harm," part 2 "committed on the grounds of political, ideological, racial, national, ethnic or religious hatred or hostility or the hostility against some social group". His physical threats with a crowbar that forced the women to undress and go naked to the police department fit within this article of the law.
Video showing Datsik and his supporters actions is available on a news site life.ru.
The film shows how he mocks a dark-skinned woman and puts his foot on her back. Later that day, she was taken to the hospital with a suspected broken toe.
We are asking to charge Vyacheslav Datsik under the article 115 of the Criminal Code "intentional infliction of bodily harm," part 2 "committed on the grounds of political, ideological, racial, national, ethnic or religious hatred or hostility against a social group " on the basis of this video data.
UPDATE: According to newly received information, the African sex workers was diagnosed with a spinal fracture and corrective surgery was performed on her. Soon she will need 51,000 Russian Rubles (approximately 700 Euros) to pay for her surgery and further treatment, otherwise she will be discharged from the hospital.
In this regard, we are asking Vyacheslav Datsik to be charged under the Article 111 of the Criminal Code "Deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm."
We also ask the Chief Directorate of the MOI of Russia in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region to inspect the actions of law enforcement officers, who upon arrival to the scene have not interfered with the unlawful actions of Vyacheslav Datsik and failed to detain him. This enabled him to go away and commit similar criminal acts in the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg.
