NSWP has received funding from HIVOS to support the publication of the next edition of our journal Research for Sex Work 14.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Friday, 26 April 2013 @ 24.00.
NSWP values diversity and encourages applications from individuals with sex work experience but also welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
The Global Network of Sex Work Projects exists to uphold the voice of sex workers globally and connect regional networks advocating for the rights of female, male and transgender sex workers. It advocates for rights based health and social services, freedom from abuse and discrimination, and self determination for sex workers.
Our core values are:
- Acceptance of sex work as work
- Opposition to all forms of criminalisation and legal oppression of sex work (including sex workers, clients, management and others related to sex workers)
- Support for self-organisation and self-determination of sex workers
We are seeking an experienced Editor for the journal. Research for Sex Work is a peer reviewed bi-lingual journal (English and one of the other four NSWP languages), which brings together community led research from around the world. The language and theme of the next edition of the journal will be decided at the NSWP Board meeting in April 2013. NSWP will consider applications from individuals working as a consultant (based in or outside of the UK).
Applicants must have an understanding of issues affecting sex workers of all genders, previous experience working with community researchers and translators, working within a multi-lingual environment, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
