Is selling sex criminalised?
Selling sex is legal in Switzerland. Working on the streets however is regulated with certain zones where it is legal and others where it is not. If sex workers work outside designated areas they can be fined. Some cities (e.g. Zurich) have special facilities for street sex work, drive through "sex boxes" although NGOs report that these are not really being used and so many sex workers working illegally in the city.

Brothel-keeping is legal although licensing systems can be quite onerous meaning difficult for small businesses and sex worker collectives to run brothels.
Is there mandatory HIV/STI testing?
No
Is there mandatory registration?
Yes - to work legally permits are issued by the authorities after confirming residence status, health insurance etc.
If sex work is regulated, is it in line with other work, or are the regulations unfair or overly restrictive?
No - regulations are fairly restrictive and create a two-tier market
Is sex work recognised as work?
No
Is sex work decriminalised with limited regulation?
No
